About The Position

The Fitness Manager will manage safe, effective, and innovative exercise programs for guests, assist Fitness Staff, work closely with the Spa Director, and monitor the gym and movement studio to provide a safe, clean, motivating, and nurturing environment that exceeds guest expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • National Fitness certifications.
  • Ability to confidently lead, motivate a group and clearly communicate.
  • Self-motivated ability to work with little supervision.
  • Must be dependable.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Wellness staff schedules.
  • Monitor Fitness and movement studio equipment and facilitate maintenance or replacement as needed.
  • Innovate, create and assist with new wellness programming.
  • Creating activity schedules.
  • Working on the floor, interacting with guests and helping with equipment during shift.
  • Maintain wellness supplies as needed including inventories and purchase orders.
  • Maintain customer service standards.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the Fitness and movement studio.
  • Promote Wellness offerings to guests.
  • Promote classes and private bookings.
  • Perform and facilitate classes, sessions and programs as needed.
  • Arrange staff meetings and training as needed.
  • Payroll.
  • Understanding and actions based on financial budgets.
  • Develop operating procedures as required and monitor staff performance as necessary.
  • Recruit, hire, develop and train wellness team members.
  • Assist management with creating an environment of teamwork.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures and accident prevention policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Upholds the resort commitment to hospitality.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are maintained at a high level of standard.
  • Manage schedules and activities through necessary systems.
  • Acts as MOD as required.
  • Follow safety first policy in work areas and with chemicals and equipment.
  • Clean and store equipment properly.
