About The Position
IU Health is looking for team members who are passionate about challenging and significant work for the good of every patient. The Fitness Instructor leads safe, engaging group exercise classes while creating a positive and welcoming environment for participants. Instructors may teach both aquatic and land-based classes and provide coverage as needed.
Requirements
- Requires an Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
- May require a valid Indiana driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Nice To Haves
- Some experience in fitness instruction is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead safe and effective group fitness classes for varying ability levels.
- Provide appropriate exercise modifications and safety cues.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and inclusive atmosphere.
- Speak clearly so all participants can follow instructions.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe exercise environment.
- Attend quarterly Be Well meetings.
- Stay current on IU Health communications, required training, and continuing education.
- Dress professionally and wear an IU Health badge.
