About The Position

Certified Personal Trainers at the Peak Fitness Center provide personal training services and special programming for our guests and employees. Trainers promote an overall healthy lifestyle and support clients with achieving their personal wellness goals. Trainers will work with the Wellness team and support Peak and Crystal Spa operations with the ability to work as a reception desk associate as needed.

Requirements

  • Personal training certified with ACSM, ACE, ISSA, NSCA or NASM required.
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
  • Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology and anatomy.
  • Full understanding of all exercise equipment and proper operations.
  • Knowledge of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
  • Good communication skills and ability to instruct and teach.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Sport and coaching specific experience.
  • Able to analyze, interpret and present data in various formats.
  • Maintains office, employee and company confidentiality at all times.
  • Dependable and meets goals.
  • Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.
  • Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a personal commitment to meeting the needs of guests and members.
  • Create a client-specific exercise program for every training session.
  • Consistently offer high-quality programming that is goal-specific, safe, and enjoyable.
  • Actively market and promote personal training to acquire new clients, members, and retain existing clients and members.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Peak programs and events.
  • Perform all daily desk operations, including reservations, cash transactions, answering a multi-line phone system, and speaking to guests in person, as needed.
  • Maintain familiarity with resort information, such as Peak classes, recreation activities, holiday events, and other offerings.
  • Maintain and organize the Peak reception area, and assist with general Peak upkeep during the shift to include folding towels, refilling water, etc.
  • Serve as a resource and example for wellness promotion.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and motivational atmosphere in sessions and in the center.
  • Monitor current market trends and developing wellness science to suggest updates and modifications to training sessions, classes, programming, and services.
  • Create and demonstrate a safe and effective exercise program for guests of the fitness center in collaboration with the manager.
  • Maintain professional standards among clients, including punctuality, proper attire, and the creation and maintenance of a friendly, safe, and motivating training and teaching relationship.
  • Document training session information per procedure and track the progress of clients.
  • Provide guidance in proper exercise technique and variations of exercises to meet goals.
  • Assist guests in establishing effective fitness/wellness goals and develop the most effective training plan to achieve those goals.
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings, including continuing education sessions.
  • Maintain guest and client confidentiality with particular attention to issues related to health history or current status – secure all associated health records per HIPPA requirements.
