Fitness Floor Attendant (part-time)
About The Position
HealthFitness, a Trustmark company, is hiring a part-time Fitness Floor Attendant at its client site in Beaumont, Texas. The role provides hands-on experience in a fitness center and supports members’ health and wellness by creating a safe, supportive, and motivating atmosphere. The attendant supervises the exercise floor, interacts with members, answers questions, and helps ensure participant and equipment safety. The schedule is approximately 10 hours per week, with weekday shifts from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 9:15 PM; some weekend availability is required. Compensation is $10.00 per hour, with the final wage offer determined by factors including location, qualifications, experience, and skill set. Applicants must meet hiring requirements, including a pre-employment drug test.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute within 30 days of the start date.
- Ability to lift weights up to 40 pounds for restacking.
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to motivate others.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work demands effectively.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.
- Must meet hiring requirements, including a pre-employment drug test.
Nice To Haves
- Prior fitness and customer service experience is strongly preferred.
- Computer application knowledge, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide exercise floor supervision and interact with members and program participants.
- Monitor equipment and participant safety.
- Welcome members, answer questions, respond to requests at the front desk, and enter data into the membership system.
- Maintain the facility, ensuring the facility, equipment, and locker rooms are clean and stocked.
- Understand and execute emergency medical procedures throughout the facility.
- Demonstrate and instruct members on the proper use of exercise equipment.
