About The Position

Parkshore is a lakefront retirement community located in Seattle's picturesque Madison Park neighborhood. We are seeking a temporary Fitness Coordinator to join our team. This role involves assessing and evaluating senior residents' needs for exercise and fitness, planning and leading individual and group exercise programs, and maintaining the Fitness Center. The position is expected to last until 12/14/2026, with approximately 30-40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an exercise-related discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience (3 or more years of fitness related experience)
  • National Fitness Certification required (ACSM preferred, but not required.
  • Be able to work generally 9am - 5pm but available to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proper uses of the exercise equipment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Squarespace;

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in prescribing exercise to special populations preferred;
  • Knowledge of techno gym equipment (or be trained);
  • Pool certification (or willing to obtain within 6 months).

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and evaluates senior residents’ needs for exercise and fitness. Works with residents individually and in groups.
  • Plans individual fitness programs for participating residents.
  • Supervises or leads exercise programs that may include exercises in the pool.
  • Assists team members and residents with orientation to Fitness Center, procedures, and policies.
  • Produces promotional materials, newsletters, flyers, etc. as required.
  • Inspects, cleans and maintains equipment.
  • Maintains records of residents’ progress.
  • Assist with collecting data and reports for fitness activities as required.
  • Provides in-service trainings as required.
  • Works in collaboration with other professionals to provide appropriate assistance to residents.
  • Performs administrative functions for the department.
  • Assists with setting up AV system in theater.
  • Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age and Eastmont in all areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
