About The Position

Provide expert guidance, earn customer trust, execute the full sales process, and contribute to a professional, high-performing store. The Retail Fitness Consultant is responsible for helping customers select complete fitness solutions that support their goals, budget, space, and long-term needs. The role requires strong product knowledge, disciplined follow-through, accurate transaction processing, teamwork, and active ownership of the store environment.

Requirements

  • Hourly Pay: $15/hour
  • Commission: 4.75% - 7.75% on gross profit
  • Company policies and standards are followed consistently whenever representing G&G Fitness Equipment.
  • Required performance tools, evaluations, and development activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • The consultant demonstrates dependable attendance, preparation, professionalism, and follow-through.
  • Accurately answers product and general fitness questions from customers, coworkers, and manufacturer representatives.
  • Recommends products based on the customer's stated goals, intended use, physical considerations, space, and budget.
  • Explains G&G Fitness Equipment's value and product advantages without disparaging competitors.
  • Locates and applies current promotional information correctly during the sales process.
  • Sales presentations consistently follow the company's core sales process and demonstrate strong probing, product selection, value presentation, and closing behaviors.
  • Relevant add-ons and complete-solution components are presented naturally and accurately.
  • Customer information and every meaningful follow-up attempt are documented in the approved system.
  • Performance in sales, profit, closing percentage, dollars per ticket, lines per ticket, and positive reviews meets or trends toward company expectations.
  • Customer contact information, preferred methods, outcomes, promised actions, and follow-up dates are recorded accurately.
  • Required post-sale outreach is completed and documented according to the current customer-care process.
  • Customers receive proactive updates when orders or requests require additional time or action.
  • Issues are resolved within the consultant's authority; unresolved concerns are escalated promptly to management.
  • Product codes, pricing, discounts, taxes, payment details, and customer information are entered correctly.
  • No credit is extended without approval and no transaction bypasses required controls.
  • Cash, checks, deposits, payouts, overages, and shortages are counted, recorded, secured, and reported according to procedure.
  • Products are pulled, invoiced, transferred, and documented with complete accuracy.
  • All floor models are clean, complete, safely displayed, and in working order; service needs are reported promptly.
  • The consultant supports inventory reconciliation and verifies inbound and outbound products carefully.
  • The store remains presentation-ready throughout the business day, not only at opening or closing.

Responsibilities

  • Represent G&G Fitness Equipment with integrity, accountability, and full compliance with company expectations.
  • Know and follow all written policies, standards, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Take ownership of personal performance, conduct, development, and results.
  • Attend and actively participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Accept coaching professionally and apply agreed-upon improvement plans.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the features, benefits, specifications, and appropriate use of all products carried in the store.
  • Understand general fitness principles and how equipment may support a customer's health, wellness, and performance goals.
  • Maintain working knowledge of competitors, their websites, represented brands, major product specifications, pricing, and positioning.
  • Understand current G&G Fitness Equipment and manufacturer promotions, dates, special pricing, promotional SKUs, sell-down lists, and spiff opportunities.
  • Greet customers promptly, build rapport, ask effective questions, and thoroughly demonstrate appropriate products.
  • Recommend the best-fit solution based on the customer's needs, including appropriate accessories, protection, preventive maintenance, financing, delivery, and installation options.
  • Ask for the sale and handle questions, objections, and negotiations within company policy.
  • Capture contact information and establish a follow-up plan when a customer does not purchase immediately.
  • Meet or exceed written monthly sales and profit goals and maintain company expectations for key sales-performance measures.
  • Remain capable of completing a professional role-play or observed sales presentation when requested.
  • Follow up consistently with all customers who authorize future contact until they purchase or request otherwise.
  • Complete required thank-you and post-sale customer-care activities within established company time frames.
  • Keep customers informed about special orders, product requests, availability, and order status.
  • Maintain relationships with previous customers and appropriately share relevant sales, events, products, and opportunities.
  • Address concerns and complaints with empathy, professionalism, urgency, and sound judgment.
  • Collect all amounts due and process cash, checks, credit cards, financing, deposits, and payouts accurately.
  • Complete financing documentation accurately, obtain required approval, and explain financing terms clearly.
  • Count, balance, and maintain the cash drawer at opening and closing; document and report all discrepancies.
  • Complete end-of-day deposits and supporting documentation accurately and on time when assigned.
  • Confirm payment requirements are satisfied before scheduling or releasing customer product.
  • Clean assigned showroom, equipment, windows, doors, offices, warehouse areas, break rooms, and restrooms to company standards.
  • Keep the sales floor safe, easy to navigate, fully functional, inviting, and free of boxes or non-sales debris.
  • Ensure displayed products have accurate price tags, available options, accessories, and accessible sales information.
  • Build, move, rearrange, or disassemble floor models as needed and assist with quarterly floor-layout updates.
  • Follow all procedures for invoicing, product movement, transfers, customer pickups, deliveries, and inventory counts.
  • Maintain awareness of frequently sold inventory, aging floor models, and products at higher risk of loss.
  • Assist customers and coworkers based on business need, regardless of who may ultimately receive sales credit.
  • Apply fair judgment when sales involve more than one consultant and raise disputes appropriately.
  • Support coworkers with operational tasks when available and qualified to do so.
  • Keep invoices, closing documents, pending-action paperwork, spiff forms, and commission documentation complete, organized, and timely.
  • Monitor assigned open orders and responsibilities until each item is fully resolved.
