Techs assist biologists with extensive field work (typically 10 hrs/day, 4 days/week, in possibly, inclement weather conditions), data collection, maintenance of survey gear and boats, and data entry. The technician will have hands-on experience in fisheries management, with an emphasis on native mussel surveys, invasive mussel early detection and fish health surveys on Lake Roosevelt. Techs will be required to complete boater safety training and will be extensively trained in various fields and laboratory safety protocols. Techs will be provided with personal protective equipment, including footwear and life jackets. Techs will be responsible for other duties as assigned. It is anticipated that Techs will work with native/invasive mussels June – October and with Fisheries November – May.
