Requirements

Graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training.
You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
Employee entering this classification must obtain a Commercial Driver's License that permits the operation of vehicles of 26,000 lbs. or more prior to completing their probationary period.
You must meet the PA residency requirement.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

Handle fish in a way that minimizes stress, injury, and mortality; identify different species and types of fish; and load, transport, and monitor fish
Collect, fertilize, and care for eggs; monitor and track important data on fish development
Set up, operate, and clean incubators, inside tanks, and outside raceways; monitor and report water quality, flow, and other information
Safely operate a fish-stocking vehicle, feeding systems, and other specialized tools involved in fish care
Perform simple math calculations to figure out how many eggs or fish are present; report information about fish feeding, growth, health, and behavior
Perform repairs and maintenance to hatchery buildings, equipment, and grounds
