Work involves processing payments, assisting with wires, and responding to agency questions with clear and helpful information.

Requirements

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, web-based utilities or the ability to learn relevant software.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Submission of criminal history reports is required for a conditional offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using PeopleSoft
  • Experience receiving customer inquiries and answering general questions
  • Experience applying relevant accounting practices to complete various accounting transactions such as the posting of accounting entries to general ledger accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently on assignments

Responsibilities

  • Handle payments according to established procedures and ensure accuracy in daily work
  • Manage morning and afternoon wire tasks that support financial operations
  • Support clearing of general ledger journals to maintain organized financial records
  • Reply to agency emails with accurate information and strong customer service
  • Perform deletes and closes of payments and assist with tasks that support daily operations
