About The Position

This is a Department Promotional Examination open only to current eligible employees of Kern County Public Health. The examination process includes a written exam to assess knowledge of supervisory principles, applicable laws and regulations, basic accounting and bookkeeping principles, customer service, and recordkeeping methods. Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 70% on each examination phase. In cases of insufficient candidates, an application appraisal may be conducted. Examination components are administered on scheduled dates without exception.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
  • Four years of progressively responsible fiscal support, bookkeeping, accounting support or experience related to the area of assignment
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
