About The Position

The Fiscal Manager is a vital member of Advancement Financial Services, providing strategic accounting support with a strong emphasis on audit compliance. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Advancement Financial Services and Chief Finance Officer, this position manages and analyzes financial data in accordance with GAAP, institutional, state, and federal guidelines. The role includes oversight of financial systems such as Sage, and Workday, ensuring data accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. In addition to financial system administration, this position provides leadership by supervising a student employee and a fiscal analyst, guiding junior staff, and reviewing financial deliverables for quality and accuracy. The Fiscal Manager serves as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, offering professional and informed assistance. The role is also responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a $22 million operating budget and overseeing the Finance team’s record retention processes to support transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or closely related field which has included at least nine (9) semester hours or equivalent quarter hours of college-level accounting courses AND five (5) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience including two (2) years of accounting supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must hold an active CPA license in Washington State, or an active CPA license that is transferable to Washington State. Candidates who are on track to obtain Washington State CPA certification within 12 months of employment may also be considered.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and/or fiscal projections.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft software programs such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint, in addition to other database applications.

Nice To Haves
