The Fiscal Grants Manager oversees the agency’s budget and grant-making operations, managing all administrative functions for Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP) funds. Working independently, the incumbent ensures strict compliance with policies, regulations, and financial requirements. This pivotal role directly impacts the financial resources, credibility, and strategic relationships of the Agency, the Virginia Fire Services Board (VFSB), and the Commonwealth. This position is designated as essential personnel and may include a Virginia Emergency Support Team (VEST) assignment. Vest assignments include providing support during an emergency incident either within the Virginia Emergency Operations Center (VEOC) or in a field assignment. Maintaining 24/7/365 situational awareness throughout the state. The ability to serve as an Agency spokesperson if needed. Employees may be required to work during emergency situations, such as inclement weather and natural or man-made disasters/events as directed. This may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may also include duties other than those specified in the employee’s official Employee Work Profile/job description.
