The Texas A&M University Libraries are seeking an Assistant Librarian for First‑Year Learning and Information Literacy to support the development of instructional programs that strengthen student success during the academic transition into university life. This position advances first‑year learning by designing and delivering course‑integrated information literacy instruction, partnering with faculty on assignment redesign, and creating workshops and online learning experiences tailored to incoming students. The Assistant Librarian serves as a first‑year specialist, guiding new students in building foundational research and critical thinking skills. Candidates who have experience working with high school or college‑aged learners will find their strengths especially valuable in this role. Working within the Office of Information Literacy, the Librarian collaborates closely with colleagues to develop bridge programming and contribute to assessment efforts that enhance the Libraries’ educational mission. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment where creative thinking, sharing ideas, and incorporating feedback are central to success. This role is well‑suited for early‑career librarians who are eager to grow as educators and librarians and to contribute meaningfully to the University Libraries’ commitment to empowering students from their very first semester. This is an on-campus opportunity. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at our College Station campus.
