About The Position

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a First-Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to support the Aircraft Operations Team based out of Oklahoma City, OK. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies. This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. This position is not a Safety Sensitive Position. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. This position is not contingent upon program award.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace
  • 5+ years of experience working in operations or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in developing and implementing process improvements
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • A final pre-start or post-start U.S. Secret clearance is required.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives in accordance with MS&B and BDS business goals and objectives
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals
  • Maintain technical, cost and schedule aspects of the IPT, including design, development, integration and support of the IPT’s Mission Systems products and charter
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees
  • Identify training requirements and assure opportunities are available to support the team’s development
  • Partner with local and enterprise-wide design centers to develop staffing strategies for successful program execution
  • Responsible for the performance management and evaluation of direct reports including 1:1 coaching, employee development and ensuring technical proficiency
  • Meet commitments, and drive quality, efficiency, and affordability
  • Mentor and coach all levels of engineers providing knowledge transfer to aid in growing our next generation of leaders and engineers
