About The Position

The Finished Products First Line Leader is responsible for the management, coordination, and direction of a crew in the Finished Products department. This role involves leading and managing safety, people, operations, and communication within the department, with a focus on continuous improvement and meeting production and quality goals.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of the Finished Products Area and a thorough knowledge of all Finished Products Department processes.
  • Key understandings of the critical parameters that impact safety, environmental, costs, quality, and customers.
  • Clear ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of team concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Established skill to execute work based on standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce accountability.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience on the paper machine at the Group II – Operator level or higher OR an engineering degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Member in good standing to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage safety, ensuring that all safety and housekeeping goals are accomplished.
  • Support the EHS coordinators and Safety Captains, drive safety with the crew, and assist in conducting incident investigations, safety observations, and inspections.
  • Responsible for making sure that all members understand what is expected of them, conducting one-to-ones, and holding members accountable for those expectations.
  • Manage daily shift operations with a focus on continuous improvement, support routine and annual outages and responsible for meeting and exceeding established production and quality goals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively interact with all operating departments and all levels of mill management and ensure the timely and accurate communication of information to and from all levels.
  • Demonstrate good listening and communication skills.
  • Attend and participate in all FLL meetings
  • Vacation coverage for FLL
  • Provide continuous Improvement efforts
  • Engagement Reliability Efforts
  • Outage Execution
  • Weekend Duty
  • Training/Onboarding new FLL’s
  • Capital Projects/IPCC Audit and Adherence for all departmental processes
  • Complete the FLL Proficient curriculum within two years of assignment.
  • Work Overtime where necessary to accommodate departmental needs including, but not limited to, support of 8 Week Scheduled Outages and Annual Outage Execution
