This role provides visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety results as a member of the Finished Products Business Unit. The position involves reporting and communicating safety and performance measurements against objectives, conducting one-to-one developmental discussions, and coaching employees to accomplish team goals. The leader will provide direct support for and participation in the mill’s structured cost reduction efforts, maintain strong relationships with other Finished Products personnel and operating/maintenance leaders, and enforce corrective actions to address problems. Responsibilities also include coordinating training and development for crews, actively using and improving existing systems for managing daily operations, ensuring teams understand how to win using Daily Management System concepts and tools (OWS), and communicating the status of department operations. The role initiates and facilitates problem-solving (TCC), implements systems to improve/sustain results, and facilitates the implementation of new procedures and controls. The position may require working day shift or rotating shifts as department staffing requires, and instilling the concepts of 80/20 in daily operations.
