About The Position

This position is for a First Line Leader within the Power Business Unit. The role involves providing visible and active leadership to achieve excellent safety results and participate as a member of the Power Business Unit. The leader will report and communicate safety and performance measurements against objectives, conduct one-to-one developmental discussions, and coach employees to accomplish team goals. This role also provides direct support for and participation in the mill’s structured cost reduction efforts/teams, maintains strong relationships with other Power Business Unit personnel and operating/maintenance department leaders, and enforces corrective actions to address problems. Additionally, the leader will coordinate training and development for crews, actively use and improve existing systems for managing daily operations, and ensure teams understand how to win by utilizing Daily Management System concepts and tools (OWS). Communication of department operations status to crews, within the business unit, and with other areas of the mill is essential. The role involves initiating and facilitating problem-solving (TCC), implementing systems to improve/sustain results, and facilitating the implementation of new procedures and controls required by changes in facilities, products, and corporate policies. The position may require working day shift or rotating shifts as department staffing requires, and instilling the concepts of 80/20 in the daily operations of the business unit.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in the Pulp and Paper industry is required
  • Must be experienced in using a computer and skilled in word processing, spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel), SAP business systems and other databases
