Assist the Chief Engineer in the operating, maintaining, and repairing of all vessel engineering systems and processes, including diesel propulsion and electric generating systems, deck hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fuel and lubrication systems, refrigeration plant, sewage treatment, water making/desalinization system, vacuum sanitation system, and heating and ventilation systems. Assist the Chief Engineer in ensuring compliance with all USCG manning, watch standing, and operating regulations. Engage in the daily operations of the vessel at sea and in port. Assist the Chief Engineer in establishing, monitoring, and maintaining preventative maintenance programs on all main engineering systems. Assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining ship fuel and discharge logs. Assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining spare parts inventory and making requisitions through the AMOS D system following established guidelines and procedures. Strictly support all ASC policies and company philosophies. Attend and participate in all company-sponsored training programs as well as outside training in management or engineering related courses. Maintain the vessel as per Det Norske Veritas Class Society and regulatory society requirements.
