First Aid/CPR Instructor (PT) - East GTA
About The Position
Worksite Safety is expanding its First Aid training classes and is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced First Aid Instructor who is passionate about keeping people safe. This part-time role involves teaching students through discussions, audio-visual presentations, and hands-on equipment training. The instructor will also travel to different training centers and client locations, prepare and administer tests, conduct qualitative mask-fit testing, and manage student records. The position requires representing Worksite Safety as an Industry Leader, sanitizing equipment, updating records, generating certificates, organizing paperwork, and participating in ongoing instructor training, team meetings, and development workshops. Additionally, the instructor will educate participants on mask wearing, use, and cleaning.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in an occupational health and safety role, adult education, or an emergency service-related field
- Certified as a First Aid Instructor with Red Cross, St. John or similar provider
- Experience delivering First Aid training in a classroom setting
- Self-starter who can work independently, while also contributing to a team
- Strong communication skills
- Valid Ontario Driver Licence - travel is required for this position
- Able to legally work in Canada
Nice To Haves
- Mask Fit Testing experience is an asset but not required
Responsibilities
- Teaching students through discussions, providing audio-visual presentations and hands-on equipment training
- Travelling to different Worksite Training Centres as scheduled, as well as client locations occasionally
- Preparing, administering and marking tests
- Conducting qualitative mask-fit testing to workers at client locations as needed
- Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hardcopy student records in a timely manner
- Participating in instructor training on an ongoing basis
- Representing Worksite Safety as an Industry Leader
- Sanitizing/disinfecting testing room & equipment
- Updating records, generating certificates and organizing paperwork
- Participating in team meetings and development workshops
- Evaluating participants based on the requirements and guidelines provided by Worksite
- Educating participants on mask wearing, use, cleaning, etc.
