About The Position

CarlsonSV is a growing firm providing various assurance, tax, accounting, and advisory services to clients in the Midwest and beyond. We are looking for a strategic, people-focused, and operationally strong Firm Administrator to help lead the continued success and growth of our firm. This role is both strategic and hands-on, providing leadership across the firm’s physical, human, intangible, and financial assets while helping ensure our teams have the structure, systems, and support they need to do their best work. As a member of the Firm Leadership Team, you will play a key role in organizational health, culture, strategic plan execution, operational decision-making, budgeting, and the integration of core administrative functions. You will help champion a high-performing, collaborative culture and support the systems, people, and processes that allow the firm to grow in a sustainable and thoughtful way. Requirements

  • Proven leader who can balance strategic thinking with strong execution.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing people, priorities, projects, budgets, systems, and competing needs in a professional services environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and people management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, assess risk, make sound decisions, and help the organization move forward.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable leading multiple projects while adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Understanding of organizational development, personnel management, budgeting, compliance, employment law, crisis management, and internal business systems.
  • Proficient with technology and committed to using systems and software to improve efficiency.
  • Credibility, integrity, discretion, and a team-first approach to work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience supervising and managing personnel.
  • Experience in a professional services environment, preferably a CPA firm.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Leadership Team to execute the firm's strategic plan, support organizational growth, and drive operational excellence across the business.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for Human Resources, Information Technology, Firm Accounting, Marketing, and Learning & Development, ensuring each area is aligned with firm goals and operating effectively.
  • Lead the firm's financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, billing, payroll, key performance metrics, and resource planning to support informed decision-making.
  • Champion a positive and high-performing culture through talent development, employee engagement, recruiting, training, performance management, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements, technology initiatives, and operational efficiencies that enhance productivity, scalability, and the employee and client experience.
  • Oversee facilities, risk management, compliance, insurance programs, information security, and business continuity efforts to protect and strengthen the firm.
  • Work collaboratively with firm leaders to solve problems, manage change, implement new initiatives, and ensure the organization is well-positioned for future success.
