About The Position

As a Lead Fires Planner, you will serve as the senior Fires expert and advisor at an Army Combat Training Center. You will lead and manage fires planning and execution across Joint Exercise Life Cycle events and rotational training, synchronizing Fires with all warfighting functions to create realistic, high‑tempo joint training environments. This role combines operational leadership, exercise design, and the ability to integrate joint and multinational fires into large-scale combat operations training. You will guide planning teams, oversee replication of higher headquarters fires processes, and ensure the fidelity of battlefield effects across the battlespace.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as an Army or USMC fire supporter at Brigade level or below
  • 2+ years of experience with LVC training or CTC
  • Experience at Division, Corps, Joint, or Multinational HQ
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Army and Joint doctrine and training policy
  • Knowledge of Army Command and Control Systems
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience as a fire supporter at Brigade level or higher
  • Experience as a Fires BN S3, XO, or CTC OC/T
  • Possession of strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Master's degree
  • Completion of ILE, CGSC, or MEL 4
  • Completion of Joint Firepower or Joint Air Operations C2 course

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and delivery of exercise products across the Joint Exercise Life Cycle.
  • Develop and refine CONOPS, mission analysis, COAs, exercise orders, and integrated Fires Plans.
  • Ensure scenarios incorporate all warfighting functions and reflect current doctrine.
  • Direct creation of battlefield effects plans and oversee the Battlefield Effects Coordination Cell (BECC).
  • Lead the fires element within replicated higher command during rotations.
  • Synchronize joint fires and ensure realistic replication of joint and coalition fires processes.
  • Oversee production and distribution of operational and strategic products using Mission Command Systems.
  • Oversee development of mid‑ and end‑of‑rotation AARs, take‑home packages, and fires assessments.
  • Ensure battlefield effects, key events, and mission outcomes are accurately captured in feedback.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of fires planners, scaling support during rotations.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, relevance, and doctrinal accuracy across fires products.
