About The Position

Fire proofers are responsible for installing fireproofing materials in new and existing piping and structures to the required specifications designated by the material manufacturer.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand spray charts and material thicknesses.
  • Must be able to operate a Forklift, Boom lift, and scissor lift.
  • Must be able to operate routinely used tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to work without close supervision once directed on task.
  • Must obey and follow all safety rules on the job site and encourage others to do the same.
  • Ability to read and write and interpret spray charts.
  • Must maintain a good relationship with co-works and works well with others to accomplish a task.
  • Physical demands of this position include lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally, 40-50 pounds frequently, and carrying the same along with constant sitting, grasping, and reaching, occasional climbing, and walking.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity, and varying outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving and unloading trucks.
  • Operate a mechanical sprayer to apply SRFM.
  • Diagnose small issues with equipment.
  • Break down and clean equipment daily.
  • Track daily production rates.
  • Communicate with immediate supervisor on scheduling and material orders.
  • Communicate with the general contractors and other trades.
  • Follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment.
  • Work off scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolding.
