About The Position

We are seeking a diligent and responsible individual to fill the role of a Fireguard. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding safety standards. This position requires a keen eye for identifying potential fire hazards and the ability to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations. This is a temporary position for three days only: September 16, September 17, and September 18, with shift times from 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Fireguard license or certification required (F01).
Valid NYS Security Guard license
Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as needed.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in security, firefighting, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Secure property and personnel by standing on post, scanning, and controlling facilities, grounds, and access points.
Implement and practice security procedures and protocols.
Maintain a secure and safe environment by monitoring access control systems along with fire and trespassing exits.
Conduct regular patrols to monitor premises for fire hazards, such as flammable materials, faulty wiring, or blocked fire exits.
Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency calls, taking appropriate action to contain and extinguish fires.
Assist with evacuations, guiding occupants to safety and coordinating with emergency responders as needed.
Conduct routine inspections of fire suppression equipment, such as extinguishers and sprinkler systems, to ensure they are in proper working order.
Document all incidents, inspections, and activities in detailed reports for record-keeping purposes.
Strong ability to be attentive to detail and observant of surroundings.
Provide excellent customer service experience by greeting incoming guests and tenants, providing information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitor.
Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, snow, or heat.
Perform other duties assigned by supervisors related to security and safety.
