About The Position

The Auburn Hills Fire Department (AHFD) is seeking a full-time Firefighter - Paramedic. AHFD originated as a volunteer fire department in 1942 and provides fire protection and advanced life support EMS service. The department responds to over 4,000 calls annually and is ranked in the top 2% of all fire departments across the state by the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO). The Firefighter - Paramedic will protect life and property by performing firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, and fire prevention duties. This role also involves maintaining fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities.

Requirements

Completed Employment Application
Candidate Physical Ability Test - CPAT or OPAT (within past year of application submission)
EMPCO standard entry level written firefighter test
Current fire-related certifications

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of fire suppression and prevention principles, procedures, techniques and equipment
Knowledge of Emergency Medical Services procedures, techniques, principals and equipment
Skill in the operation of the listed tools and equipment
Ability to apply standard firefighting and EMS techniques to specific situations
Ability to perform strenuous or peak physical effort during emergency, training, or station maintenance activities for prolonged periods of time under conditions of extreme heights, intense heat, cold or smoke
