About The Position

The City of Cedar Hill, Texas has immediate Firefighter/Paramedic positions to fill! The Cedar Hill Fire Department is dedicated to providing excellent service to our community and making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. We know that through our interventions we are enhancing and changing our community, One life at a time. We are an all hazards Fire Department. We proudly provide services in Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services (Advanced Life Support), Rescue Services, Fire Prevention, Public Education, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Disaster Mitigation. The Fire Department provides these services through our 4 fire stations and fire administration. We have 78 personnel ready to serve and take pride in our service delivery. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Candidates must be at least 19 years of age.
• Candidates must possess a valid driver's license.
• Candidates that do not possess a Class B Texas license must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Class B license.
• TCFP Certified Basic Structural Firefighter with TxDSHS Paramedic certification OR TxDSHS Paramedic certification only

• Additional pay available for advanced certifications and education!

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform firefighting and fire prevention activities in protecting life and property.
• Successfully maintain and operate firefighting apparatus and equipment.
• Provide medical assistance and Advanced Life Support first responder pre-hospital emergency medical care and assistance to victims.
• Perform minor station maintenance.
• Participate in a variety of training to maintain skills.
