Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years of age
• Current NREMT certification and Mississippi EMT certification (or ability to obtain)
• Firefighter II certification (IFSAC, Pro Board, Mississippi, or equivalent)
• EVOC certification and completion of NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800
• HazMat Operations and Technical Rescue Awareness certifications (with ability to advance to Technician level)

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and emergencies with rapid, effective fire suppression, rescue operations, and Basic Life Support (BLS) care.
• Perform advanced rescue functions, including vehicle extrication and high-risk incident support across structural, industrial, and aircraft environments.
• Maintain constant readiness by inspecting, operating, and servicing apparatus, equipment, PPE, and station facilities.
• Participate in ongoing training, drills, and certifications to build expertise in firefighting, EMS, technical rescue, and HazMat operations.
• Uphold safety standards, SOPs, and professional excellence while completing accurate reports and supporting fire prevention and community safety efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.
