About The Position

Rural King is seeking a Firearms Sales Associate to provide knowledgeable customer service while assisting with firearms, ammunition, accessories, and related products. The role requires firearms product knowledge, sales and customer service skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of applicable firearms laws and regulations.

The associate helps customers identify products suited to their needs, preferences, and budget; provides unbiased product information; and accurately processes sales, special orders, returns, payments, and required documentation using the POS system. The role also supports promotions, upselling, cross-selling, the RK Firearms Plus Protection Plan, and loyalty program awareness.

The associate must follow applicable firearms laws and regulations, the Firearms SOP, and required compliance training. Other duties include maintaining accurate records and customer confidentiality, promoting safe practices, maintaining firearms displays and sales-floor presentation, supporting inventory accuracy, and staying current on products and training. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds, and using ladders and pallet jacks. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of firearms, ammunition, accessories, safety practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Strong customer service, communication, and active listening skills.
• Ability to accurately complete transactions, documentation, and other detail-oriented tasks.
• Ability to use POS systems, computers, and retail technology.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to complete required firearms compliance training.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use ladders and pallet jacks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and associates.
• Close visual awareness for product- and transaction-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and identify their needs, preferences, and budget.

• Maintain clean, organized, accurately priced, and visually appealing firearms displays.
• Support inventory accuracy, signage, zoning, and sales-floor presentation.
• Stay current on firearms products, industry developments, and company training.
• Participate in cross-training and perform other duties as assigned.
