The Fire Systems Technician 3 will be responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites, including panel programming, resolving low voltage circuit troubles, and system testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems preferred.
  • 4+ year of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of low voltage systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals is preferred.
  • NICET level 2 certification
  • Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
  • The ability to calculate basic math including fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Proven ability with basic computer functions, operating systems and software applications such as Office 365, Apple IOS, and or Android.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Sense of urgency, self-initiative, dedication, and sense of ownership.
  • Effective written and verbal interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding ability to follow through from start to finish of work.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to balance multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
  • Confirm compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety requirements as mandated by standards, codes, manufacturer requirements, federal, state, and local ordinances, and customer expectations.
  • Perform programming, testing, final inspections, as-built drawings, and customer training for installations.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Detect and troubleshoot system malfunctions efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through effective communication and exceptional service.
  • Maintain vehicle in clean and orderly fashion. Keep vehicle stocked with parts, equipment, and supplies, necessary to perform the job
  • Assist with training of lower level technicians
