Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience installing or servicing fire suppression systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, marine systems, or related equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel and support customer needs as required.
  • A valid driver's licence.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of applicable fire codes and industry standards is considered an asset.
  • Technical training in fire suppression systems, marine systems, automated lubrication systems, or a mechanical trade.
  • Fire suppression certifications and related industry training.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current Certificate of Conduct and Driver's Abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire suppression systems on vehicles, mobile equipment, and marine vessels, including tugboats and workboats.
  • Installing fire suppression systems on vehicles, heavy equipment, and marine vessels.
  • Reading and interpreting installation drawings, schematics, hydraulic layouts, vessel plans, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Installing and mounting cylinders, nozzles, detection tubing, pumps, reservoirs, injectors, discharge lines, actuation devices, and control panels.
  • Routing and securing tubing, hoses, wiring, and system components to perform reliably in demanding environments.
  • Performing commissioning, testing, calibration, and functional checks.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system issues.
  • Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Completing service reports, inspection records, and installation documentation accurately.
  • Working closely with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, service vehicles, and an organized work area.
  • Following all workplace, marine, environmental, and safety procedures.
