About The Position
State Fire Idaho is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Fire Suppression Installer & Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Service Technician for their Pocatello, ID location. This role involves a variety of servicing and installation tasks, including hand portable fire extinguishers, commercial kitchen suppression systems, automotive paint booths, and vehicle suppression systems (mining). Requirements
- Integrity above all, with solid work ethic and personal accountability
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and solve problems in the field
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
- Comfortable using mobile reporting tools
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Willingness to travel overnight occasionally and work overtime as needed
- Able to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all conditions
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 70 pounds
Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, and recharge all types of portable fire extinguishers
- Test, maintain, and repair suppression systems for commercial kitchens, automotive paint booths, and vehicle suppression systems
- Complete inspections to NFPA standards
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and customer documentation
- Provide dependable service that reflects State Fire Idaho’s commitment to safety and quality
