About The Position

The City of Chandler Fire Department is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as a Fire Support Services Senior Technician. This position is responsible for performing inspections and technical maintenance for the City's self-contained breath apparatus (SCBA) air systems and related fire equipment. The role also provides support to the Department's EMS operations, including the maintenance and repair of oxygen cascade systems and assisting with the delivery and distribution of EMS supplies and equipment to fire stations and other department facilities. The position requires a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in inventory management involving the selection, storing and issuing of a variety of materials and supplies
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Factory Certification in maintenance and repair of M.S.A., Draeger, Interspero or similar brand SCBA within three (3) months of hire or promotion
  • Professional SCUBA Inspector Certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion

Nice To Haves

  • Experience repairing, maintaining, servicing, and rebuilding a variety of fire department equipment and tools.
  • Experience inspecting, servicing, and maintaining Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), including ensuring SCBA cylinders are properly inspected, tested, and maintained.
  • Experience conducting or assisting with firefighter respirator fit testing.
  • Experience programming, maintaining, or supporting emergency radio communications equipment.
  • Experience reviewing equipment and supply order requests and assisting with purchasing, inventory management, and distribution of department equipment and supplies.
  • Experience supporting the delivery and distribution of equipment, supplies, and materials to fire stations and other department facilities.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing oxygen cascade systems and supporting the distribution of EMS supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and technical maintenance for the City's self-contained breath apparatus (SCBA) air systems and related fire equipment.
  • Provide support to the Department's EMS operations.
  • Maintain and repair oxygen cascade systems.
  • Assist with the delivery and distribution of EMS supplies and equipment to fire stations and other department facilities.
