About The Position

This is a skilled trade position responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of the District's fire sprinkler systems. The position involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing system malfunctions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards. The role requires working independently and as part of a team to maintain the safety and operational integrity of the District's facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
  • NICET Level II certification in Fire Sprinkler System Layout or equivalent.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 13, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic testing equipment.
  • Additional certifications related to fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems, including hydrostatic testing, flow testing, and alarm testing.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in fire sprinkler systems, such as leaks, clogged heads, and faulty valves.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs performed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable fire codes, building codes, and NFPA standards.
  • Respond to emergency calls for fire sprinkler system issues.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in fire sprinkler system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors as needed.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay current with industry standards and technologies.
