About The Position

This role involves responding to service calls for fire sprinkler systems, performing diagnostics, and executing repairs. The technician will work on various types of sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. Key aspects include troubleshooting, interpreting technical documents, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining service records. The position also requires participation in an on-call rotation and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Willingness to join the local Union.
  • 2 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Overnight travel will be required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Must possess and retain current State Fire Protection License or Journeyman License valid.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Level II certification.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls and understand equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customers to ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump sprinkler systems.
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures and consult technical manuals.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Exhibit effective customer service skills by communicating with staff and customers.
  • Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.

Benefits

  • Pay Range: $21.00 - 56.87 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
