About The Position

This role involves responding to service calls for fire sprinkler systems, diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The technician will work on various types of sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. This position requires strong technical skills, the ability to interpret technical documents, and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Willingness to join the local Union.
  • 2 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Overnight travel will be required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Must possess and retain current State Fire Protection License or Journeyman License.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Level II certification.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pump sprinkler systems.
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Exhibit effective customer service skills by communicating with staff and customers.
  • Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation.
  • Maintain truck inventory.
  • Adhere to and follow safety guidelines and procedures.

Benefits

  • Pay Range: $21.00 - 56.87 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
