About The Position

We seek a self-motivated, customer service-oriented lead technician. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and a good communicator. Ability to use software-based technology for paperless documentation. Establish a rapport and build positive relationships with our customers. This position is for a service technician and fire protection system inspection/testing specialist.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Connecticut F1/F2 fire sprinkler license
  • 1-3 years’ service work experience in Sprinkler, fire pump, and Backflow systems service.
  • Fire and /or Life Safety Systems experience.
  • Must have or be able and willing to attain state Connecticut Backflow certification.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Capable of passing a pre-employment background, MVR and drug test.
  • Customer oriented interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use phone/Ipad for software applications used daily.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to exercise effective time management skills.
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to perform NFPA 25 inspection and testing services.
  • Must be able to use general hand tools and power safely and effectively tools.
  • Must be capable of using various Arial lifts and boom trucks.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to push and pull greater than 75 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to safely use and climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 24 feet.
  • Must be able, on a regular basis, work comfortably at a height of greater than 26 feet.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for NFPA 25 inspection/testing of water-based fire protection systems.
  • Service, maintenance, and repairs of water-based systems.
  • Minor modification and retrofit of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Backflow preventer inspection, testing, and repairs.
  • Responsible for identifying NFPA compliance issues and preparing remediation recommendations.
  • Working as a team player with field and office staff to provide the highest standard of customer service and quality work.
  • Performing visual inspection of systems, disabling horn & strobes, and alerting alarm companies and central monitoring services and fire department.
  • Complete job paperwork in a timely manner and submit electronically.
  • Report critical deficiencies and impairments to deficiency coordinator and branch manager.
  • Prepare detailed labor, material, and equipment list needed for all repairs, service and maintenance work.
  • Work with highest level of safety.
  • Complete all Impact Fire safety testing requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and gather materials and equipment for vehicle and jobs to perform work in an efficient manner.
  • Work efficiently and utilize resources to complete jobs in a timely manner.
  • Keep work vehicle clean and organized.
  • Schedule routine maintenance of vehicle when needed.
  • Will be on 24 hours call for one-week periods in a rotation with other lead technicians.
  • Responding to confirm service calls within 30 minutes of receiving the call/text from Impact/Academy dispatch or via answering service.
  • Willing to work on off hours during the weekday and weekends when required.
  • Follow Impact Fire Services Policies & Procedures.
  • Must be punctual, ready to work when scheduled, & complete all duties assigned by management in a timely manner.
  • Provide strong customer service, interacting with customers in person and via phone to help resolve and answer any problems that they may be having.
