About The Position
Chesapeake Fire Protection is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to inspect, test, and service fire sprinkler systems, identify deficiencies, and help ensure systems are ready when needed. The role includes work on water-based and sprinkler systems and helping customers receive services in accordance with the proposed scope. The position is based in Odenton, Maryland, with travel of up to 25%.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–3 years of experience inspecting various fire sprinkler systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing, and installation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
Nice To Haves
- NICET II or III certification preferred.
- Backflow certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, servicing, installation, and preventative maintenance of water-based and sprinkler systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and fire codes.
- Test systems for leaks using air and liquid pressure equipment.
- Identify deficiencies and complete detailed service documentation.
- Coordinate inspection deficiencies with the service needed to correct them.
- Communicate job status, delays, and requirements to the Service Manager and Inspections Coordinator.
- Help ensure customers receive work according to the proposed scope.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
