This Fire Sprinkler Helper position is a trainee role focused on learning the mechanics of sprinkler system installation. Responsibilities include site clean-up, unloading, staging, and distributing work material, cutting and threading pipe, and assisting in the installation and testing of fire sprinkler systems under the close guidance of a Sprinkler Fitter. The Helper is also responsible for assisting in maintaining a clean, well-organized vehicle and ensuring a safe environment. This position will report to the Fort Smith office but involves working out of the Northwest Arkansas - Fayetteville & Springdale Areas.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical and math skills
  • Must exhibit the initiative to learn the skills of the trade
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required
  • MVR checks are required for all driving positions

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and service fire sprinkler systems
  • Cut and thread pipe and manage material
  • Assist in the installation of valves, couplings, and other fittings
  • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment
  • Learn construction project skills, including reading blue prints
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, well-organized vehicle
  • Ensure a safe environment for his/herself, co-workers, and customers
