About The Position

Mullins Mechanical is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter to install and repair fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial buildings. This role involves reading blueprints, cutting and assembling pipes, and testing systems to ensure compliance with fire codes. Key duties include the physical installation of systems, diagnosing and repairing issues, and ensuring public safety through meticulous work. The position requires physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, and a strong attention to detail.

Requirements

• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Physical stamina for manual labor, such as lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A valid driver's license may be required
• Completion of an apprenticeship is often required

• Backflow prevention device certification is frequently preferred

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics to plan and install fire sprinkler systems, including cutting, threading, and assembling pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads.
• Diagnose and repair existing sprinkler systems, which may include replacing damaged parts or performing emergency repairs.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA requirements, use appropriate tools and equipment, and work safely in various environments.
