Fire Protection Project Manager – Remote / Hybrid
About The Position
Skilled Trades Partners is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Project Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with an established fire protection contractor in a period of growth and transformation. The role offers the opportunity to help strengthen operations, develop a team, and shape the future of a growing branch. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects and contribute to operational improvements and company culture while working closely with branch leadership. The position is based around Lexington, Kentucky, with remote or hybrid arrangements available for qualified candidates. Flexibility may be available for an initial on-site transition period in Lexington. Temporary housing or relocation assistance may be available.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of fire protection industry experience, including proven project management experience.
- Strong background managing multiple commercial or industrial fire sprinkler projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of fire sprinkler systems, installation practices, project financials, and field operations.
- Ability to independently manage projects and deliver results from day one.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in developing a team, strengthening operations, and contributing to long-term growth.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with union fire protection contractors is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial and industrial fire protection projects from award through completion.
- Oversee project budgets, scheduling, manpower, materials, and profitability.
- Coordinate with sprinkler designers, field supervisors, foremen, general contractors, and customers.
- Manage project documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and procurement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
- Develop processes, improve operational efficiency, and establish a foundation for continued growth.
- Work with branch leadership to build a high-performing team and positive company culture.
