About The Position

The Fire Protection Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Specialist will ensure the safety and reliability of fire protection systems. This role involves conducting inspections, performing maintenance, and implementing proactive measures to ensure optimal system function and compliance with regulatory requirements. The specialist will work collaboratively with teams to assess risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions, maintaining a culture of safety and preparedness.

Requirements

Must be a US or Australian citizen
Must have a minimum of five years of experience working with fire protection equipment and systems
Must possess NICET II or NICET III
Must possess and maintain qualifications in accordance with US DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), or Australian equivalent acceptable to the USG
Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

BA/BS from an accredited institution
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/Poly or Australian PV clearance

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and inspect smoke and fire suppression systems.
Inspect, test and repair fire alarm wiring, fire alarm panels and peripheral equipment.
Identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Inspect, repair or replace smoke/heat detectors and sprinkler heads.
Repair and test wet/dry systems; test fire alarm system devices using appropriate diagnostic programs and test equipment.
Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
Read, interpret, and apply system design plans and building construction drawings and documents.
Perform true test smoke detector sensitivity procedure.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is required.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
