About The Position

Coffman Engineers' DC Metro office is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented individual with an interest in engineering to join their team as a Fire Protection Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of post-secondary education in an accredited fire protection engineering program. This is a full-time, in-person internship based in their Fulton, MD office, with a hybrid work model of 3-4 days in the office and 1-2 days working from home. The position is not eligible for sponsorship. The internship is available for multiple students to support either the winter break (January 4-22) or the full summer break.

Requirements

Enrolled as a full-time student in an engineering program at a nationally recognized, accredited college.
One year of required courses completed towards an undergraduate engineering degree (preferred).
Currently enrolled in a Fire Protection Engineering degree program or taking fire protection–specific courses as part of their engineering studies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented and organized.
Ability to work up to 32 hours per week during the winter break or up to 40 hours per week during the summer break.
Flexibility to accommodate individual school schedules and academic demands.
