With a growing portfolio of high-profile projects, they are seeking a talented Fire Protection Engineer to join their team in Texas. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, design life safety systems, and ensure fire protection excellence across various sectors. We are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and manage fire protection systems for a range of projects, including commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in fire suppression, alarm systems, and code consulting, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in fire protection system design and code consulting.
  • Proficiency in NFPA codes, IBC, and other relevant fire and life safety standards.
  • Experience with hydraulic calculation software and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • PE (Professional Engineer) license in Fire Protection is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, smoke control systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Develop hydraulic calculations, prepare system layouts, and produce construction documents.
  • Provide fire and life safety code consulting to ensure compliance with NFPA standards, building codes, and local regulations.
  • Manage fire protection engineering tasks for multiple projects, from initial design through construction and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure integration of fire protection systems with overall building design.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
  • Conduct field inspections and testing to ensure systems are installed per design specifications and meet all safety standards.
  • Review shop drawings, submittts, and as-built documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with design documents.
  • Stay current with evolving fire protection technologies and best practices to ensure cutting-edge solutions for clients.
  • Act as a technical resource for clients, providing clear communication and detailed reporting on project progress, potential risks, and compliance issues.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for clients regarding fire safety improvements or system upgrades.
  • Contribute to proposals and business development efforts to support future projects.
