Fire Protection Engineer
About The Position
Jensen Hughes is hiring a Fire Protection Engineer to work on an ongoing project at a large semiconductor facility in North Phoenix. The role covers fire protection engineering, including building code consulting, fire protection systems, and fire protection strategies, with a focus on Building Code and Fire Code consulting. The position involves coordinating and conducting building plan reviews, interpreting building codes, developing alternative solutions, preparing building design reports, and coordinating with fire protection engineering design teams. The successful candidate will review and implement fire protection strategies and coordinate with design teams and authorities having jurisdiction.
Requirements
- Experience in code consulting and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment.
- Experience developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews or inspections.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies.
- Ability to work independently and interact with industry professionals, associated trades, and jurisdictional authorities.
Responsibilities
- Perform fire and life safety code consulting tasks related to Group H-5 semiconductor facilities.
- Assist with the development of alternate methods of design and/or code modification submittals.
- Assist with hazardous materials consulting activities.
- Perform site surveys.
- Assist with fire and life safety system inspection and testing activities.
- Coordinate closely with design teams and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Contribute to complex, high-impact project delivery.
- Coordinate and conduct building plan reviews, interpret building codes, develop alternative solutions, and prepare building design reports.
- Review and implement fire protection strategies.
