About The Position

A Fire Protection Engineer EIT will perform fire protection engineering services on multi-discipline building design projects of small to large scope for commercial and government facilities, as well as single discipline fire protection engineering projects of small to large scope. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

• Fire Protection Engineering services on multi-discipline building design projects
• Commercial and government facilities project experience
• Single discipline fire protection engineering projects experience
• Conceptual studies, program requirements, design analyses, calculations, systems selection and layout for building design
• Preparation of programming documents, schematic documents, design development documents, and construction documents
• Coordination and communication with design team members
• Services associated with the bidding process, including preparing addenda and amendments and opening and tabulating bids
• Services associated with the construction phase, including field visits, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings
• Complying with quality control policies and procedures
• Learn and implement department and company standards
• Develop analysis and design skills
• Participating in team meetings and coordinating efforts with other team members
• Working with, responding to, and taking direction from the Department Director, Managing Principals, Project Managers, Design Managers, Senior Fire Protection Engineers and senior management
• Working with a team of architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects

Responsibilities

• Performing various aspects of fire protection design as directed by a Senior Fire Protection Engineer including conceptual studies, program requirements, design analyses, calculations, systems selection and layout for building design
• Preparation of programming documents, schematic documents, design development documents, and construction documents as directed
• Coordination and communication with design team members to ensure the fire protection design details integrate properly with the work of all other project disciplines
• Preparation of marketing and presentation materials as directed
• Performing various services associated with the bidding process, including preparing addenda and amendments and opening and tabulating bids as directed
• Performing various services associated with the construction phase, including field visits, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings as directed
• Complying with quality control policies and procedures
• Learn and implement department and company standards
