About The Position

The Fire Protection Designer develops fire protection system designs and construction documents for data center and mission-critical facilities under the direction of the Fire Protection Engineer of Record. The role models and lays out sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire alarm systems in Revit, coordinating with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to produce clash-free, constructible drawings. Designs apply NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 72, the IBC and IFC, and local amendments.

The designer produces coordinated construction drawings, supports internal project teams, designs compliant fire protection and fire alarm systems, and assists with submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction-phase documentation. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and/or equivalent knowledge gained from education and/or work experience.
• 2–5 years of fire protection design experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD; proficiency in one of Revit, AutoSPRINK, or AutoCAD is specified.
• Working knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes and standards.
• Exceptional Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proven success working with all levels of management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
