Performs industrial fireproofing tasks including repair area preparation, formwork installation, metal lath installation, material mixing, and application in an industrial setting at an operating facility. This role requires the ability to perform fireproofing application tasks, including the finishing of cementitious fireproofing. The position may involve measuring and mixing industrial fireproofing products, which necessitates the use of a half-face respirator. Experience with various application methods such as hand trowel, shot applied, and sprayed (intumescent) is essential. The role includes operating, cleaning, and maintaining equipment like paddle mixers and pumps, as well as safely handling, storing, and labeling materials. Fireproofing work will be conducted both at ground level in active work areas and at heights on installed structural steel and equipment, requiring the use of fall protection and scaffolding. Personnel must be capable of working at heights and familiar with reviewing design documents and construction drawings. Additionally, familiarity with inspection equipment such as depth gauges, durometers, scales, and environmental conditions monitors is necessary. The job also involves installing powder-actuated fasteners and performing fireproofing activities in confined spaces like vessels. Quality control tasks for fireproofing systems are a key responsibility. Punctuality and dependable attendance are required, along with strict adherence to all safety procedures.
