About The Position

As a Field Project Manager for our Fire division, you will lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects in commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities. You will be responsible for the setup of local project offices, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation. You will manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations/satisfaction. This role involves presenting to management and/or customers on project updates, project cycle, and expected results, and ensuring projects are closed on time and in scope.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate or diploma in a related field (Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic; Security).
  • 5 years’ installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Project).
  • Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros is required.
  • Available for frequent local travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
  • Expectation that Project Management Professional certification will be obtained within two years of employment in the position.
  • NICET Level II must be obtained within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects.
  • Responsible for setup of local project offices, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation.
  • Manages schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations/satisfaction.
  • Presents to management and/or customers on project updates, project cycle, and expected results.
  • Ensures projects are closed on time and in scope.
  • Coordinates and communicates project progression from inception to completion including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
  • Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Conducts Work in Progress meetings.
  • Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
  • Ensures AHJ requirements and departmental/SOX procedures are followed.
  • Coordinates change orders and works toward overall margin improvement on every job.
