About The Position

As a PMA Service Sales Representative, you will promote and sell service agreements for commercial building systems, including fire alarm, suppression, sprinkler, security, sound, communication, and inspections. Success in this role means understanding customer needs, building trust, developing effective sales strategies, and closing enough business to meet sales plan objectives while maintaining strong long-term customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of successful sales experience in a quota-setting environment.
  • Experience selling services, intangibles, or solution-based offerings.
  • Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to persuade, influence, and close sales effectively.
  • High energy, self-motivation, and a strong drive to succeed.
  • High degree of self-discipline and attention to detail.
  • Personable, outgoing, reliable, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to learn commercial building systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or engineering.
  • Two to three previous progressive sales roles.
  • Knowledge of the fire and life safety industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in Salesforce.com.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell service agreements for commercial building systems.
  • Establish contact with prospects, qualify potential buyers, and schedule sales calls.
  • Follow up on leads and use outlined marketing strategies to develop new opportunities.
  • Determine customer needs and create sales strategies that align with those objectives.
  • Close sufficient sales to meet sales plan objectives.
  • Maintain an active proposal backlog that supports the sales plan.
  • Conduct building surveys to support estimate development.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales-related activity, reports, expenses, competitive activity, and correspondence.
  • Develop positive, ongoing customer relationships that support long-term loyalty.
  • Partner with the service department to generate leads for service or equipment and device upgrades.
