About The Position
Under the direction of the Fire Marshal, the Fire Inspector is responsible for conducting fire inspections for the purpose of correcting potentially hazardous situations, and to comply with established regulatory practices. Employees in this class initiate and participate in various fire prevention programs for the purpose of providing education concerning principles and techniques for preventing fires and acting in fire situations. Responds to fire emergencies as needed. Performs related work as directed.
Requirements
- Texas Commission on Fire Protection – Structural Fire Fighter required
- Texas Commission on Fire Protection– Inspector I & II Certification required.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Class B exempt within one year.
Nice To Haves
- Texas Commission on Fire Protection – Arson and Fire Investigator Certification preferred.
- Certified Police Officer preferred; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
