Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 65 pounds or less without mechanical assist devices
  • Computer literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel with the potential to learn and master other in-house software that may be job related
  • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  • This position requires excellent attendance and punctuality. Incumbents must commit to being on time, must be able to work in a very independent environment, and ensure all directions and instructions from Supervisors and Service Coordinators are followed
  • Ability to write effective and concise reports in neat, legible handwriting is required
  • Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients, while functioning as a team player required
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only

Nice To Haves

  • Prior fire maintenance work is beneficial but not required
  • Some mechanical aptitude or ability would be beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Fire extinguisher maintenance to include inspection, repair, refilling and replacement of fire extinguishers of various sizes and types
  • Fire hydrant inspection and maintenance
  • Fire hose and fire hose reel inspection and maintenance
  • Maintenance of the equipment and parts inventory to insure proper restocking is accomplished when necessary
  • Coordination of the record keeping in regards to the inspection, repair, refilling, and maintenance of extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire hydrants
  • Perform Confined Space and High Angle Rescue Standby
  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
